For just over fifty years the Hampton-Newport News (VA) Alumni Chapter has embodied, and implemented the objectives of GUIDE RIGHT, the international service program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Chapter’s commitment to young people is well established, and its collective Guide Right efforts will continue to serve as a mechanism to inspire service in the public interest.
The Chapter’s inaugural meeting of its Kappa Youth Leadership League was held on Sunday, September 16, 1973. Kappa League, as it is more commonly referred, is the social implementation of GUIDE RIGHT. The conclusion of its organizational development was a formal chartering ceremony held on May 15,1974, at the St. Paul AME Church in Newport News, VA. Since those humble beginnings; for 50 consecutive years, hundreds of young men have taken advantage of this life-enhancing resource.
